A Cook County woman is suing an audio equipment manufacturer, alleging sexual harassment at its retail location.

Susan Kovandzic filed a lawsuit Sept. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against Bang & Olufsen of America Inc., Bang & Olufsen Retail, doing business as Bang & Olufsen Deerfield, and Timothy Slager, store manager during the time relevant to the case.

The plaintiff filed the suit after her claim was dismissed by the Illinois Department of Human Rights. In the lawsuit Kovandzic, a former employee, alleges she was sexually harassed by Slager at the store in Deerfield.

The plaintiff alleges Slager made unwanted and unsolicited sexual comments to her, and that her complaints to the company's upper management were ignored.

Kovandzic seeks punitive and compensatory damages in an amount to be proven at trial, as well as interest and litigation costs. She is represented by attorneys Stuart M. Nagel and Jay C. Orseno of Chalmers & Nagel in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-009087.
