A Cook County man is suing four doctors and a hospital, alleging medical malpractice in a patient's death.

Brian Reed, independent administrator of the estate of Traci Reed-Brown, filed a lawsuit Oct. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation now named Northwestern Medical Group, Dr. Luminita Tureanu, Dr. Howard Chrisman, Dr. Eric Kamenetsky and Dr. Steven Huffman.

According to the complaint, Reed-Brown was a patient at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago on Oct. 24-25, 2013, where she was examined and treated for uterine fibroids by the four doctors named in the suit. Reed-Brown died Oct. 26, 2013, the suit says, from an aortic aneurism the defendants failed to detect and treat during her examination two days before she passed away.

Reed seeks damages of more than $50,000, including medical, funeral and legal costs. He is represented by attorney Stephen D. Phillips of Phillips Law Offices in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010252.
