A Cook County woman has filed a petition for discovery against the operators of an infidelity shaming website and the Internet service providers that make it available.

Rebecca Weininger filed a lawsuit Oct. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against a Maryland company named Exposed by Ariella and unidentified Internet service providers.

According to the petition, the defendant operates a website called  shesahomewrecker.com that publishes user-generated content about individuals who allegedly had extramarital affairs. Weininger, an attorney, says someone using the website obtained and published private information from text messages about her relationship with her current husband. This unknown person also accused Weininger of past infidelity, which she denies, the petition says.

Weininger seeks the identity of the person who provided this information and made the online posts. She is represented by attorneys Steven P. Mandell, Steven L. Baron and Natalie A. Harris of Mandell Menkes in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L010731.
