A Cook County man is suing an eye doctor and his practice, alleging malpractice during surgery.

Paul Surma filed a lawsuit Oct. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Mohammad Al-Khudari and his practice, Family Eye Physicians, with offices in Chicago, Orland Park and Oak Lawn.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 29, 2013, Surma saw Al-Khudari for cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant. Surma alleges the implanted lens used during the operation was incorrect, causing the plaintiff visual impairment in his left eye as well as pain, suffering and disability.

Surma seeks damages of more than $100,000. He is represented by attorney William S. Wojcik of The Wojciklaw.com Center in Oak Lawn.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010827.
