A Cook County woman is suing a Chicago nursing facility, alleging liability in her 92-year-old mother’s death.

Elizabeth Terrones, independent executor of the estate of Ruth Terrones, filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lake Shore Healthcare & Rehabilitation Centre doing business as Lake Shore Healthcare & Rehab.

According to the complaint, Ruth Terrones developed several pressure ulcers as a resident of Lake Shore, which led to her overall physical and mental deterioration and death. Lake Shore is accused of failing to provide adequate preventative wound care and supervision while Terrone lived there between September and December 2013.

Ruth Terrones died Dec. 12, 2013.

Elizabeth Terrones seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Marc S. Weissman of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-008943.
