A Cook County woman is suing a Chicago nursing home, alleging negligence in her 82-year-old father's death.

Deborah Pegues, independent administrator for the estate of Alvin Houston Jr., filed a lawsuit Aug. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Montgomery Place.

According to the complaint, after Houston was admitted to Montgomery Place, 5550 S. Shore Drive, Chicago  in 2013, he developed several pressure ulcers. One of the wounds became infected and required surgical care, which the suit says contributed to his death March 12, 2014.

Pegues seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000, including litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Bella Feinstein of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-008736.
