CHICAGO–The daughter of an elderly man is suing the Chicago health facility where he lived, alleging negligence for fatal injuries she says he suffered during his residency.

Angela Thomas, individually and as special administrator of the estate of Albert Thomas, filed a lawsuit Nov. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing and Rehab Center, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Albert Thomas fell on several occasions between February 2002 and October 2010 while he was a resident of International Nursing. On Oct. 19, 2010, Thomas slipped and fell, knocking himself unconscious, the suit says.

Upon transfer to Holy Cross Hospital, the suit states he was diagnosed with a head laceration and bleeding on the brain. He died April 19, 2011, as a result of his injuries, the lawsuit states.

Thomas seeks damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Timothy R. Tyler and Jesse R. Tyler of the Tyler Law Offices in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L011926.
