CHICAGO – An Arizona investor is suing Good Eats, a company in which she invested, alleging it refuses to allow her to inspect its financial records.
Jean S. Dixon filed a lawsuit Dec. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Good Eats Group LLC and John McLean, alleging breach of fiduciary duty under the Illinois Limited Liability Company Act.
According to the complaint, Dixon and her husband invested in Good Eats, an Illinois start-up company. The suit says Dixon seeks to examine the company’s books to determine whether the managers pay themselves salaries or unnecessary expenses to avoid paying the owners and distribution of the profits.
Dixon seeks liquidation of her investment and reimbursement for its true value, to be determined at trial. She is represented by attorney Lawrence W. Byrne of Pederson & Houpt PC in Chicago.
