CHICAGO – An Elk Grove man is suing a Barrington dentist and his practice, alleging they misdiagnosed his dental pain and ignored the underlying cause of his discomfort.
Ronak Shah filed a lawsuit Dec. 31 in Cook County Circuit Court against Barrington Grove Dental and Dr. Robert E. Passehl, alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, Shah was treated by Passehl between Jan. 4-28, 2014, for pain in his first molar, a tooth on the lower left jaw. The suit says the defendant failed to diagnose decay present in the first molar and an adjacent tooth, placing a filling in the tooth rather than performing a root canal.
As a result, the plaintiff alleges he suffered pain and nerve damage.
Shah seeks damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney W. Jason Gatzulis of The Law Office of W. Jason Gatzulis in Chicago.
