Shopper alleges Lake Point Market's negligence caused his injuries

Electrical conduit

CHICAGO – A Cook County man is suing 505 Tower Inc., alleging negligence for injuries he says he sustained from a fall at Lake Point Market.

Gerald Carlson filed a lawsuit Dec. 31 in Cook County Circuit Court against 505 Tower Inc., Jiteshkumar Patel, Nilay Patel and Lake Point Market, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Carlson was at the property May 9, 2014, when he suffered injuries by tripping and falling on an electrical conduit left exposed by the defendant.

The plaintiff says the conduit was not obviously visible and blames the defendants for providing unsafe conditions and failing to post warning signs of the potential danger.

Carlson seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. He is represented by attorney John K. Vrdolyak of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
