Daughter accuses Norridge Gardens of neglecting elderly mother

CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing a Norridge nursing home, alleging her mother suffered sepsis and other serious complications while a resident of the defendant. 

Gayle Tulipano, as attorney in fact for Norien Tulipano, filed a lawsuit Jan. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Norridge Gardens LLC, alleging personal injury liability and violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, Norien Tulipano was admitted to Norridge Gardens on Oct. 4, 2013, requiring assistance with grooming, bathing, bed mobility and other daily living activities. During her residency, the suit states, Tulipano developed several infected pressure wounds requiring surgical debridement, allegedly because the defendant’s staff failed to render appropriate care. 

The suit also alleges claims nutrition, hydration, wound and skin care, and medication management were likewise neglected.

Tulipano seeks a jury trial and damages in of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey Schlapp of the Schlapp Law Group LLC in Chicago.
