Customer alleges Tortas Frontera's shattered glass caused her injuries

CHICAGO — A Cook County woman is suing a Chicago restaurant, alleging negligence for injuries she claims to have sustained from an unreasonably dangerous margarita glass.

Cindy Greenwood filed  a lawsuit Jan. 7 In Cook County Circuit Court against Tortas Fronteras LLC, and HMS Host Corporation, alleging a violation of its duty to the plaintiff and careless negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 2, was on Tortas Fronteras' premises near O'Hare Airport as a customer. The suit says Greenwood sat at the bar and ordered a margarita, at which point, the glass shattered and subsequently injured the plaintiff. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to maintain reasonable care of the premises and provided the defective glass.

Greenwood seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus medical costs and lost wages. She is represented by attorney M. Andrew Hamilton of Chicago.
