CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing a physician, alleging negligence, after her husband died while undergoing an elective hair restoration procedure.

Asiya Mulani, independent administrator of the estate of Parvez Mulani, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. William D. Yates and Yates Hair Science Group LLC, alleging medical malpractice and wrongful death. Dr. John A. Kyncl and Dr. Mila-Marie Kyncl S.C. are named as respondents in discovery.

According to the complaint, Parvez Mulani, a father of two, died Dec. 18, 2014 after undergoing an elective procedure for hair restoration performed by Yates. The suit alleges that despite Mulani’s history of heart disease, no EKG monitoring was used during the operation, which may have prevented his death.

Asiya Mulani seeks damages in excess of $50,000. She is represented by attorney Robert F. Geimer of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman LLC in Chicago.
