Glenview Terrace Nursing Center accused of violating Nursing Home Care Act

Nursing home room

CHICAGO – A Cook County man is suing a nursing home, alleging its neglect of a resident led to her untimely death.

Artie Murray, independent administrator of the estate of Lennie L. Robinson, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Glenview Terrace Nursing Center, alleging violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, Robinson, who had Alzheimer’s disease, anemia, hypertension and chronic kidney disease, was a resident of Glenview Terrace from Feb. 21, 2011 through Jan. 10, 2014. In the late 2013 to early 2014 timeframe, the suit alleges Robinson suffered from three unsupervised falls in her room, a bruised forehead, and pressure wounds to her sacrum and buttocks. The plaintiff’s suit claims her injuries hastened her death.

Murray seeks a jury trial and damages in excess of $50,000. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey Schlapp of Schlapp Law Group LLC in Chicago.
