CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing her landlord in a dispute surrounding injuries she allegedly sustained on the property.
Isisdamar Cintron filed a lawsuit Jan. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Urban Restoration Group LLC, alleging premises liability and violation of building codes.
According to the complaint, Cintron was attempting to walk down a flight of steps attached to the property’s back porch on June 29, 2014 when she lost her balance. Reaching for the handrail, the suit says she instead found a banister with newel posts, unable to be grasped. Cintron claims that without a proper handrail to break her fall, she suffered severe, permanent injuries.
Cintron seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus legal expenses. She is represented by attorney Paul A. Greenberg of Briskman Briskman & Greenberg in Chicago.
