CHICAGO – A Cook County woman says she was improperly sedated during surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, causing her to suffer injuries during the procedure.
Karen Nobile filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Stephanie J. Kielb, Dr. Dhanesh K. Gupta, certified registered nurse anesthetist Sherwin F. Samson, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, Nobile suffered an anorectal tear on Jan. 14, 2014, as Kleib performed urological surgery for incontinence on the plaintiff. The suit says Nobile was improperly sedated, causing her to move during the operation and suffer the laceration. As a result, Nobile claims she has suffered permanent residual disability, pain and suffering, as well as owing great sums for medical expenses.
Nobile seeks damages in excess of $50,000 plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney Randall F. Peters of Randall F. Peters & Associates in Chicago.
