Wife blames driver of ABT Electronics van for husband's death

Redlight

CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing the driver of an ABT Electronics vehicle for allegedly reckless driving that resulted in an auto accident in which her husband was killed.

Pauline Lee, special administrator of the estate of Chi-Sun Lee, filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Mario Espinosa Jr., individually and as an agent of ABT Electronics Inc., and ABT Electronics, alleging wrongful death and personal injury from a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 18, 2015 Espinosa was operating a 2007 Chevrolet van owned by ABT when he turned a corner, striking and killing Chi-Sun Lee. The incident occurred at the intersection of Halsted and Melrose streets. Espinosa was allegedly speeding and talking on a cellphone while driving the van, preventing him from seeing Lee before the crash.

Lee seeks damages in excess of $50,000. She is represented by attorney Richard Cohn of Chicago.
