CHICAGO – A Cook County woman is suing Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, alleging negligence resulted in her 74-year-old mother’s injuries due to a series of falls.
Jennifer Hamlin, executor of the estate of Kathleen M. Taylor, filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Alden-Alma Nelson Manor Inc., doing business as Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, and Alden Management Services Inc., alleging negligence and violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, Taylor was a resident of Alden Debes Rehab Center from Jan. 7 to May 27, 2014. While living at the Center, Taylor allegedly suffered approximately 10 falls, suffering head, neck, shoulder and wrist injuries that required hospitalization. The suit says these wounds were caused by negligence on behalf of the staff of Alden Debes and caused Taylor pain and suffering, disability and disfigurement and medical and related expenses.
Hamlin seeks damages in excess of $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Susan L. Novosad and Michelle L. Wesley of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
