Woman sues hospital, doctor after stillbirth

Preeclampsia2

CHICAGO — A Cook County woman is suing Metro South Medical Center in a dispute surrounding an alleged failure to provide proper care and the stillbirth of her son.

Erica Rogers, special administrator of the estate of Kayden Warrior, filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against Blue Island Hospital Company LLC, doing business as Metro South Medical Center, and Dr. Vybert P. Greene, alleging they failed to diagnose and properly treat a pregnancy complication.

According to the complaint, Rogers received prenatal care at Metro South between March and June of 2015. Rogers saw Greene during her last visit, on June 3, 2015, the suit claims. The suit alleges that after the visit, on the same day, Rogers' son, Kayden Warrior, was delivered stillborn. The claim states that the defendants failed to diagnose Rogers’ preeclampsia and that the condition led to the stillbirth.

Rogers seeks a jury trial and damages in excess of $50,000, plus litigation costs. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey M. Goldberg of Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices in Chicago.
