CHICAGO — The owner of Always on Time Refrigeration is being sued by the independent administrator of the estate of a deceased man who allegedly died as a result of being hit on the road by the defendant's truck.

Karen Soper, the administrator for Glenn Soper’s estate, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rick Magel, based on allegations of careless and/or negligent acts and wrongful death.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 3, 2014, Magel was driving a 2005 Toyota 4Runner on Algonquin Road in Mount Prospect in the course of his work with Always on Time Refrigeration. Glenn Soper was crossing the street when Magel’s vehicle struck Soper, the suit claims.

The lawsuit states that because of accident, Glenn Soper suffered conscious pain, suffering, disability, disfigurement, and other injuries before his death on Feb. 16, 2014.

Soper is seeking a judgment against Magel in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Brian Murphy of Hofeld and Schaffner in Chicago.
