CHICAGO — A woman is suing an Illinois osteopathologist over the alleged wrongful death of her husband.

Peggy A. Spino, as special administratrix of the estate of deceased Ronald T. Spino, filed a lawsuit Feb. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Daniel L. Clark, D.O., alleging negligence and wrongful death.

The suit states Ronald Spino was under care and treatment of Clark from approximately 2010 to February 2014.

In 2010, Clark prescribed Amiodarone to Ronald Spino for heart arrhythmia, the suit says.

The suit alleges Clark was then negligent in failing to monitor the effects of Amiodarone on Ronald Spino and failing to provide a medication with less toxic side effects.

As a result of Clark's alleged negligence, the suit claims, Ronald Spino died on Feb. 5, 2014, and Peggy Spino has suffered grief and the loss of his society, companionship, love and affection.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by attorney Edmund J. Scanlan in Chicago.
