Woman alleges premises liability against Walgreens

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Walgreens over injuries she allegedly sustained at one of its Chicago stores.

Maria Zebrauskas filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Walgreen Co., alleging premises liability.

On Feb. 13, 2014, Zebrauskas was entering a Walgreens store at 6016 W. 63rd St. in Chicago when the door closed and struck her, causing her to fall, the suit says.

The suit alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to maintain the door in a proper and safe condition, among other negligent acts or omissions.

As a result, Zebrauskas allegedly suffered severe shock to her nervous system, bruises, contusions and lacerations, broken bones, aggravations of pre-existing injuries and ailments, for which she has incurred medical expenses.

Zebrauskas seeks a judgment over $50,000, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by attorney Carl S. Salvato of Salvato & O'Toole in Chicago.
