Suit against hospital, surgeon alleges negligence

Kneesurgery

CHICAGO — A woman is suing an Illinois medical center and an orthopedic surgeon over claims of negligence in a knee surgery that was performed on her.

Linda Golliday filed suit Feb. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Surrenthia Parker and Jackson Park Hospital Foundation, doing business as Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, alleging negligence.

On June 4, 2013, Golliday was a patient at Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, having surgery for right knee total arthroplasty, which was performed by Parker, according to the suit.

On Feb. 26, 2014, Golliday visited a different orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion related to her operated right knee, where she learned she would require a revision right knee total arthroplasty, which she underwent on June 14, 2014.

The suit alleges the defendants were negligent in performing the first total arthroplasty, resulting in Golliday expending large sums to have the second surgery.

Golliday seeks a judgment to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of this court, plus costs of the suit. She is represented by attorneys Scott H. Rudin and Lauren Levin of Miroballi Durkin & Rudin in Chicago.
