Health worker sues property owners over alleged negligence

CHICAGO — A home health care provider is suing the owners of a residence in Mount Prospect, claiming she fell on snow and ice due to the defendants' carelessness and negligence.

Rosa Elena Gonzales Rojas is suing Joan E. Szabo, Elizabeth K. Szabo, Chicago Title Land Trust Company, trustee of Land Trust Number 490, all unknown beneficiaries of Chicago Title Land Trust Number 490 and all unknown owners of the property located at 117 N. Prospect Manor in Mount Prospect, citing alleged negligence that resulted in an injury.

Rojas sued on Feb. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants knowingly failed to provide safety measures along a driveway/walkway.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 20, 2014, she slipped and fell to the ground while walking to the said driveway/walkway, causing her permanent injuries and disabilities, including "pain and injury in both mind and body." The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide and maintain a safe and suitable condition of the driveway/walkway pavement..

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for a sum in excess of $100,000 plus costs of suit. She is represented by Lawrence K. Magnuson of Lawrence K. Magnuson, P.C. in Gurnee, Illinois.
