CHICAGO — A woman is suing an eye-care company, a hospital company, a surgical group and a doctor, alleging negligence that led to an injury.
Shakietha Foster filed suit on Feb. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Arbor Center for Eyecare, S.C.; Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp.; Midwest Surgical Management Group LLC; and Dr. David Lubeck, citing negligence for allegedly failing to evaluate her condition prior to corneal transplant surgery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 27, 2014, she discovered that she possibly had retinal detachment and has suffered personal injuries and damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to perform a series of tests to ensure her condition was ready for surgery and to avoid any complications.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for a sum in excess of jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by Brion W. Doherty of Motherway & Napleton, LLP in Chicago.
