Woman sues doctor, practice after husband's death

CHICAGO — A woman is suing a Cook County doctor and a medical practice, claiming negligence in an alleged failure to diagnose her deceased husband's deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

Karry Clarke sued James Arons, D.O., and Park West Family Physicians, S.C., on Feb. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants are responsible for failing to diagnose and treat her husband in accordance with accepted family medicine practice standards.

According to the complaint, patient Tarik Clarke died of a cardiopulmonary arrest on April 26, 2015, and the plaintiff has suffered grief and sorrow.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by James C. Harman of Cirignani Heller & Harman, LLP in Chicago.
