Son accuses Manorcare of negligence in death of mother

Head injury2

CHICAGO – A man is suing the nursing home where his late mother resided, Manorcare of Oak Lawn, in a dispute surrounding fatal injuries she allegedly suffered from staff mistreatment.

Dennis Lick, independent administrator of the estate of Dolores Lick, filed a lawsuit Feb. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manor Care of Oak Lawn (East) Illinois LLC, doing business as Manorcare of Oak Lawn East, alleging personal injury liability and negligence under the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, during her residence at Manorcare Oak Law East, Dolores Lick required assistance with mobility and dressing changes. The suit says Lick suffered a fall from violent and improper handling during assistance, resulting in a brain hemorrhage and eventual death on June 26, 2014.

Dennis Lick seeks damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney Terrence Davey of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
