Courtyard By Marriott Schaumburg sued by guest over alleged injuries

Hotel

CHICAGO – A hotel guest is suing the location where she stayed over allegations she was injured due to unsafe conditions.

Briana Sam filed a complaint on Jan. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against SSH TRS M LLC, doing business as Courtyard By Marriott Schaumburg; SSH IL M Property LLC; IPROCSHAUMBURG LLC, doing business as Marriott Schaumburg; and White Lodging Services Corp., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 5, 2015, she was a guest at the hotel and fell due to unsafe floor conditions outside of the first-floor elevator. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly did not upkeep their floor to a safe standard.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation of more than $50,000 from each defendant and any other relief that the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Meghan M. McDonald of Bekkerman Law Offices LLC in Chicago.
