Hospital staff

CHICAGO — A woman is suing a doctor and two health-care entities for alleged negligence, claiming a robotic--assisted hysterectomy went wrong and resulted in perforation of her sigmoid colon.

Cassandra Dale is suing Mercy Hospital and Medical Center; Chicago Women's Healthcare, S.C.; and Dr. Cordia M. Clark-White, citing alleged negligence.

Dale sued on Feb. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming the defendants are responsible for improperly perforating her sigmoid colon during surgery and failing to recognize and address the perforation in a timely manner, causing severe and permanent injuries.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation in the form of a judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the court's jurisdictional requirement that will fairly and adequately compensate her for her injuries and damages. She is represented by Alexander M. Sukham of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
