Costco customer sues company over fall

Fall

CHICAGO — A woman is suing over a fall in a retail store that she claims caused "a severe shock to her nervous system" and permanent injuries.

Dorotea Paoletti sued Costco Wholesale Corporation on Feb. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming she was injured on the company's property due to negligence.

The plaintiff alleges that, on Aug. 4, she slipped on a wet floor in the food court of the Costco store in Melrose Park. The plaintiff holds Costco Wholesale Corporation responsible because she alleged Costco failed to maintain a safe floor for customers.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by Daniel E. Goodman of the Law Office of Daniel E Goodman LLC in Rosemont.
