Truck driver sues steel company over alleged injuries

CHICAGO – A Dolton truck driver has filed a suit against a steel company over injuries he allegedly sustained while on the company's premises.

William Reddick filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against John Maneely Co., doing business as JMC Steel Group and Atlas Tube, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 5, 2013, he slipped and suffered injury because of the slippery coating used on the steel tubing. The suit states he was attempting to cover a load of the tubing with a tarp.

The plaintiff seeks compensation in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Steven J. Seidman of Seidman, Margulis & Fairman in Chicago.
