Condo owners sue after explosion, fire

CHICAGO — The co-owners of a Chicago condominium are suing an appliance retailer, claiming an explosion and fire that injured the plaintiffs was the fault of the defendant.

Meysha Gluzman and Maria Gluzman are suing L & L Appliance Mart Inc., claiming alleged negligence.

The condominium owners sued on Feb. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that L & L Appliance Mart Inc. did not properly train employees to cap open gas lines.

The plaintiffs allege that, on Feb. 2,, Meysha Gluzman and Maria Gluzman were hurt in an explosion and fire at the condominium. The plaintiffs hold L & L Appliance Mart Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly did not teach its employees to cover and cap exposed gas lines.

The plaintiffs seek the following: compensation in excess of $50,000. They are represented by Matthew T. Jenkins of Corboy & Demetrio, P.C. in Chicago in Illinois.
