Woman sues nursing home in mother's death

CHICAGO — An administrator of the estate of a deceased woman is suing a nursing home, claiming that negligent acts including the administration of a morphine overdose led to the woman's death on April 15, 2015.

Sherri Griebahn, daughter and administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Ann Baker, is suing Lexington Health Care Center of Schaumburg Inc., citing alleged negligence and wrongful death.

Griebahn sued on March 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the nursing home violated the wrongful death act by failing to administer the medication safely.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for a dollar amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of the court plus costs of suit,. She is represented by Frank S. Cservenyak and William V. Kozol of Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol, LLC in Joliet.
