Hospital, doctors sued in woman's death

7209

CHICAGO — The independent administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing several health-care providers in a case alleging wrongful death.

Morris Washington is suing Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers; Steven A. Chandler, D.O.; Southwest Orthopedics, S.C.; Mohammed A. Awad, D.O.; Anastacia R. Lagrosa, M.D.; Carla P. Watson, M.D.; Prescriptive Wellness LLC; and Advocate Health Partners, citing alleged negligence in the care of Sheree Mayfield.

Washington sued on Feb. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming the defendants are liable under the Illinois Wrongful Death Act for failing to properly assess and diagnose the medical condition of Mayfield, who allegedly had tibial surgery on June 19, 2015, and died of deep vein thrombosis four days later.

The plaintiff seeks a judgement that will fully and fairly compensate the estate. He is represented by Lindsey A. Seeskin of Rapoport Law Offices, P.C. in Chicago.
