CHICAGO — A mother is suing a doctor and medical practice, claiming negligence in the failure to diagnose her daughter's imperforate anus.
Shellriece Smith sued Cezar B. Tolentino, M.D., and The Center for Women Ltd. on Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming a failure in 2008 to diagnose and treat her daughter's anorectal malformation, leading to pain, emotional distress and impaired ability to enjoy life.
The plaintiff seeks compensation for an amount in excess of $50,000 plus the costs of suit. She is represented by James J. Lessmeister of Lessmeister & Associates in Chicago in Illinois and Robert M. Romero of Robert M. Romero, P.C. in Naperville.
