CHICAGO – A Chicago nursing care facility is being accused of negligent care.
Bertha Nunn and Ericka Nunn filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Southpoint Nursing & Rehabilitation Center LLC, Southpoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Southpoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, citing violation of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 13, 2014, and May 27, 2014, Bertha Nunn sustained body injuries due to falling from her wheelchair, and that she suffered other negligent care and treatment while at the facility. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide proper care to Bertha Nunn.
The plaintiffs seek the following: compensation for judgment against the defendants of more than $50,000. They are represented by Michael T. Mertz and Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
