Daughter alleges The Grove at Lincoln Park Living & Rehab Center was negligent in father's care

CHICAGO – A woman alleges that a rehabilitation facility failed to exercise reasonable care in the treatment, care and supervision of her late father.

Shirley Buie-O'Neal, as independent administrator for the estate of Louis O'Neal, filed a complaint on March 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Grove at Lincoln Park Living & Rehab Center LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between March 12, 2014, and April 30, 2014, her decedent resided at the defendant's facility and developed a stage IV pressure ulcer that became infected and required hospital care. The suit states he died on May 11, 2014. The plaintiff holds The Grove at Lincoln Park Living & Rehab Center LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly supervise the care and treatment to prevent the development and worsening of her decedent's condition.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Bella Feinstein of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago in Illinois.
