CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing a Streamwood health care facility, alleging negligence led to a patient's death.
Robert Mendoza, independent estate administrator for Maria Mendoza, filed a lawsuit Jan. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lexington of Streamwood, Inc. and Royal Management Corporation, a health care and nursing facility, alleging negligence resulting in injury.
According to the complaint, on June 2, 2014, Maria Mendoza fell resulting a fracture in the left femur that required hospitalization and surgery at Lexington of Streamwood, which led to sepsis, all of which contributed to cause her subsequent death June 15, 2014.
The suit says the defendants failed to properly assist, monitor and supervise Maria Mendoza to maintain the safety and prevent her from falling in the daily activities.
Robert Mendoza seeks more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and the costs of suit. He is represented by attorneys Margaret Battersby Black and Mary L. Volk of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
