Scales of justice

CHICAGO – An estate administrator is suing a Chicago facility and its management staff over allegedly failing to properly evaluate, monitor and supervise her decedent's underlying medical conditions.

Dorothy Barrett Taylor, as independent executor of Elizabeth Barrett-Ross, filed a complaint on March 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Glencrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre LTD, Glen Health and Home Management Inc., Sidney Glenner and Ma. Leonora G. Lancita, citing wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her decedent suffered dehydration, hypotension, hypertension and other medical issues while under the care of the defendants in 2014 before her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to adequately monitor and treat the deteriorating medical conditions of her decedent in a timely manner.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits. She is represented by Eva E. Golabek of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
