Worker blames construction firm for injuries

CHICAGO — A worker is suing a construction business, alleging negligence resulted in injury.

John P. Foley filed a lawsuit March 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Build Tech Construction, Inc. and Precision Excavating Inc., alleging negligence resulting in injury and failure to provide a safe working environment.

According to the complaint, on May 21, 2015, Foley was injured while attempting to retrieve a buried rebar at a Chicago job site, 3423 N. Southport Ave. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to manage, maintain and control its premises to prevent injuries while working.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount to satisfy the court's jurisdictional limits plus the costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Sean P. Murray of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen LTD. in Chicago.
