CHICAGO — A woman has filed suit against a restaurant company, claiming she choked on a chicken bone that was in soup.
Dolores J. Kloeckner is suing Chicago Bread L.L.C., doing business as Panera Bread Company, Hamra Management Company LLC, Downs Food Group and Park 100 Foods Inc., citing alleged negligence that resulted in injury.
The customer filed a complaint on March 22, in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming the defendants failed to inspect and ensure that their products were free from any foreign materials.
The plaintiff alleges that, on Dec. 7, 2014, she began to choke on a piece of a chicken bone while eating wild rice chicken soup at a Panera Bread restaurant. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to exercise due care to keep foreign objects out of their food products, leading to internal and external injuries.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for an amount in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) plus the costs of suit. She is represented by James N. Faklis of Faklis, Tallis & Mead, P.C. in Chicago in Illinois.
