Customer blames Chicago bar operator for injuries

CHICAGO — A customer is suing a Chicago bar operator, alleging negligence for an injury the plaintiff says she suffered.

Shandreka Flowers filed a lawsuit Jan, 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Darrin's Cocktail Lounge, alleging failure to warn and failure to maintain their premises in a good and safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 19, 2014, at Darrin's, 1249 E. 87th St., Chicago, Flowers fell violently to the floor resulting in bodily injuries. The plaintiff alleges Darrin's failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of the consuming public and failed to warn customers of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks more than $50,000, plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney Gary B. Friedman of Friedman & Solmor LTD in Chicago.
