Physician blames health service provider for injury

Bowel obstruction

CHICAGO — A physician is suing a health care provider, alleging negligence resulted in an injury.

Dr. Larry Wasser filed a lawsuit Jan. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Dr. Tyler Koski and Dr. Robert Gould, alleging negligence and failure to exercise ordinary care and caution in giving care and treatment.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 22, 2014, Wasser suffered pains from back surgery that led to medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to establish safety in their surgical area and ensure it was free from all potential contaminants prior to the medical procedures.

Wasser seeks more than $50,000, plus legal costs. He is represented by attorney Edward G. Proctor Jr. of Munday, Nathan and Schulkin in Chicago.
