CHICAGO – An estate administrator has filed suit against three health care facilities alleging they failed to provide appropriate assistance and supervision in giving care and treatment.
Lorine Blackman, as independent administrator for the estate of Delores Davis, filed a complaint on March 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against THC Chicago Inc., Brentwood Operating Co. LLC and Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp., citing negligence and wrongful death.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Nov. 29, 2013, and Jan. 20, 2014, Davis developed pressure sores to the right buttocks and bilateral elbows while under the defendants' care. The plaintiff holds THC Chicago Inc., Brentwood Operating Co. LLC and Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide necessary care and treatment to prevent the development and deterioration of pressure sores.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Jordan S. Powell of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
