Wife blames construction company for husband's death

CHICAGO — A wife is suing a construction company, alleging negligence caused her husband's death.

Jennifer M. Jaloway, individually and as administrator for the estate of John Jaloway filed a lawsuit March 29 against Aristeo Construction Company, Konematic Inc., doing business as Door Systems Inc., GM Safety And Supply LLC and Code Red Safety & Rental LLC, doing business as Code Red Safety, alleging negligence in her husband's death and failure to provide a reasonable safe place to work for workers like her husband.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 2, John Jaloway suffered pains, injuries and ultimately death due to a concrete slab that fell on him at a Chicago construction site. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to identify and eliminate the dangerous condition prior to the demolition work.

Jennifer Jaloway seeks a trial by jury and more than $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Jonathan P. Mincieli, Craig D. Brown and Peter J. Flowers  of Meyers & Flowers in St. Charles.
