CHICAGO — A Chicago man with a disability is suing a Lombard medical equipment company, alleging negligence resulted in injuries.

George Windham, a paraplegic, filed a lawsuit March 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against United Seating & Mobility LLC, doing business as Numotion of Lombard, and KI Mobility Exports, alleging negligence resulting in injury and failure to exercise reasonable care in the inspection and servicing of its products.

According to the complaint, on March 26, 2014, Windham suffered injuries in his left rotator cuff after his wheelchair collapsed while he was being transferred to his car. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect its product and ensure it was properly working.

Windham seeks a trial by jury, more than $50,000 and the costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Lisa M. Ciharan of Law Office of CY Weiner in Chicago.
