Son blames long-term care facility for father's death

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing a Norridge a long-term nursing care facility, alleging negligence caused his father's death.

Henry Pabon, as administrator for the estate of Roberto Pabon, filed a lawsuit April 30, in Cook County Circuit Court against Norridge Gardens LLC, alleging violation of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to provide adequate assistance and supervision. 

According to the complaint, between May 4-Sept. 9, 2014, Roberto Pabon suffered multiple injuries from falling that required surgical treatment. He has also developed pneumonia and suffered from dehydration that led to his death Sept. 23, 2014, the suit says. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide sufficient assistance, care, treatment and supervision to prevent Pabon from falling as well as developing pneumonia and dehydration.

Henry Pabon seeks a trial by jury, more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and the costs of suit. He is represented by attorneys Terrence E. Davey of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
