Wife blames Chicago health facility for husband's death

Medical

CHICAGO — A wife is suing a group of Chicago health providers, alleging negligence in her husband's death.

Delilah Harvey, as independent administrator of the estate of Henry Harvey, filed a complaint March 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, Presence Resurrection Medical Center Chicago Hospitals Network, Dr. Godwin H. D'Souza, Dr. Rokeya Begum-Akhtar, Aris Teleradiology LLC and Dr. Stephen Muehlenbein, alleging they failed to exercise reasonable care and caution in the care and treatment of her husband.

According to the complaint, on March 12, 2014, Henry Harvey had struck his head when he fell while at the rehabilitation facility and then admitted to Presence Our Lady. His condition deteriorated, leading to his death March 17, 2014, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to further evaluate and interpret Henry's medical history and radiology studies.

Delilah Harvey seeks a trial by jury and more than $50,000. She is represented by attorneys Kristen N. Koeller and Kelly A. Sabo of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
