CHICAGO — A patient is suing a number of Evergreen Park health care providers, alleging negligence in a post-surgical infection.
Norman Mueller filed a lawsuit March 30 in Cook County Circuit Court, against Dr. Sujai Desai, Dr. Patrick Johnston, and The Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, alleging negligence and failing to exercise due care and caution in his treatment.
According to the complaint, between Jan. 20-31, 2015, Mueller suffered severe pain on his left shoulder, fever and pus coming out of the incision site after arthroscopic surgery. His wound became infected, the suit says.
Mueller alleges the defendants failed to examine, evaluate, monitor and recognize the presence of a post-surgical infection.
Mueller seeks a trial by jury and damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits, plus costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Patrick F. Bradley of Chicago.
