CHICAGO — An estate independent administrator is suing a Bolingbrook long-term nursing facility, alleging negligence led to death.
Amanda Jones, as administrator for the estate of Lillie Phillips, filed a complaint April 5, in Cook County Circuit Court against Butterfield Healthcare Inc., alleging negligence in knowingly violating the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to provide assistance and supervision in care and treatment.
According to the complaint, in April 2014, Phillips developed several pressure ulcers to her right heel and her hip that worsened, leading to her death Sept. 14, 2014. The plaintiff alleges Butterfield Healthcare failed to provide adequate assistance and supervision to prevent the development and worsening of multiple pressure ulcers.
Jones seeks a trial by jury, at least $50,000, attorney fees and the costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Marc S. Weissman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
